How to see someone's most popular TikTok videos

There is a way to see someone's most popular video on TikTok without scrolling their whole profile. Sort the profile once and the best ones come to the top.

How to see someone's most popular TikTok videos

To see someone's most popular video on TikTok, you first have to decide what popular means. Most watched, most liked, most shared and most saved are four different videos more often than you would expect.

TikTok's own Popular chip picks one answer for you. Sort Feed lets you pick, on any profile, and shows the numbers beside each video.

What Popular leaves out

The Popular chip above a profile's grid reorders the videos, and for a quick look it does the job. It is one ranking, with no say in what it ranks by.

It also covers the whole profile at once. You cannot ask for the most popular videos of the last three months, which matters on an account whose biggest hits are years old. And the tiles show views only, so likes, shares and saves stay hidden until you open each video.

Pick what popular means

TikTok publishes five counts on every video, and each one measures a different kind of success.

  • Views: how far it travelled.
  • Likes: how many people enjoyed it.
  • Comments: how many had something to say.
  • Shares: how many sent it to someone else.
  • Saves: how many wanted to come back to it.

A video can lead on views because the algorithm pushed it and still trail on everything else. A video that leads on saves was useful to people, which is a stronger signal if you make tutorials, recipes or advice.

Sort the profile

Sort Feed is a research tool for Chrome. With it added, open the profile on tiktok.com and stay on the Videos tab with the Latest chip selected. Install Sort Feed covers setup.

Click the Sort Feed icon, choose how many TikToks to look at under Filters, and click the metric you want. The page dims while the videos are collected, then the grid comes back ranked with the count on every card.

The free plan covers the latest 25 TikToks or one week. Pro goes back 1,000 videos or the full profile, and adds custom date ranges.

Compare the lists

Once the videos are collected, the Sort by chip on the banner re-ranks them instantly. Go from Views to Shares to Saves and watch which videos hold their place.

The ones that stay near the top on every measure are the account's real best. The ones that jump around tell you something more specific, such as a video people shared widely and nobody saved.

Watch the dates as well. If the top of every list is two years old, the account's popular videos and its current ones are different things. Filters on the banner narrows the grid to a recent stretch, so you can rank only what was posted lately.

Click any card to open it in the player with all five counts beside the video. The arrow keys step through the ranking.

Popular for its size

On a large account every video is popular by raw numbers. Outlier score ranks each video against the creator's own median, so a 6.1× marks a video that pulled six times the account's usual views. It is on the free plan.

Save the shortlist

Click Select, tick the videos worth keeping, and Export them to a spreadsheet with links and counts. Download saves the clips without a watermark. TikTok in the docs covers search results, Favorites and collections, which sort the same way.

Refresh the page and the profile returns to TikTok's own order. Nothing on the account was touched.
