Connect Claude or ChatGPT

Connecting takes about a minute and happens inside Claude's or ChatGPT's settings. Do it on the web, in the browser that has Sort Feed, so the last step lands in the right place.

Before you start

Three things need to be true in the browser that has Sort Feed. Check them once and you won't need to again.

  • Sort Feed is installed and you're signed in to it with a Pro account. Plans & billing covers upgrading.
  • You're logged into Instagram in that browser, as you normally are.
  • The browser is open on your computer. The sort runs there, so a closed laptop means no sort.

Add it to Claude

1. Open Claude's connectors

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors. On the web that's claude.ai/new#customize/connectors/yours. The desktop app has the same page under Settings.

2. Add a custom connector

Choose Add custom connector, name it Sort Feed, and paste this address:

3. Click Connect, then Allow

Claude opens a Sort Feed page asking whether Claude may use Sort Feed. It's the same account site you use for billing, so sign in there if it asks, with your Sort Feed Pro email, the same one the extension uses.

Click Allow and you're back in Claude with Sort Feed in the connector list. If Claude asks "Finish connecting a connector?", click Continue connecting.

Add it to ChatGPT

1. Turn on Developer mode

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. On the web that's chatgpt.com/#settings/Security.

2. Create the app

On the Plugins page, click the plus and choose Create app. Name it Sort Feed and paste this address as the server URL:

3. Click Create, then Allow

Tick "I understand and want to continue" and click Create. ChatGPT opens a Sort Feed page asking whether ChatGPT may use Sort Feed. It's the same account site you use for billing, so sign in there if it asks, with your Sort Feed Pro email, the same one the extension uses.

Click Allow and you're back in ChatGPT with Sort Feed in your plugins.

Checking the connection

Open Sort Feed on Instagram and click the gear. The Sort Feed MCP row says whether this browser is connected, and Manage opens your account settings, where the same row turns green once a browser is linked and updates by itself.

You can also ask in the chat. "Is Sort Feed connected?" returns the connection, your plan and how much of the hourly budget is used.

Disconnecting

Open your account settings and click Disconnect on the Sort Feed MCP row. That removes Claude's and ChatGPT's access to Sort Feed. To tidy up, remove Sort Feed from Claude's connectors or ChatGPT's plugins as well.

Removing it inside Claude or ChatGPT alone isn't enough, since that never reaches Sort Feed's server. Do both.

If it won't connect

  • Claude or ChatGPT says Sort Feed isn't connected. Open the browser that has Sort Feed, check you're signed in to Instagram and to Sort Feed, wait half a minute, and ask again.
  • It keeps saying it isn't connected. The connection belongs to one browser and one Sort Feed account. Sign in to account.sortfeed.com in the browser that has Sort Feed, which links it, then ask again.
  • The Allow page opened in the wrong browser. Close it and start the steps again from claude.ai or chatgpt.com in the browser that has Sort Feed.
  • Once it's connected, Asking for a sort is the next page.
